This is also our home, we enjoy the peaceful environment and the stunning views all year round. We look forward to sharing it with you.

We have own ideas on how the lodge is run and presented, the underlying guideline however, a commitment to offering the same very high standard of amenity and service the previous owners have done for the past 20 years.

We look forward to meeting you and being of service.

  • Lodge History

The magnificence of the view and the level building site were an immediate attraction for the developers of the purpose built lodge and family home.

To do justice to the site, bearing mind this was rich dairy country not unlike parts of Britain,
a concept plan was developed based on a traditional English country style home integrating many local features.

It was lovingly constructed starting in 2002 and was officially opened in January 2004 with a blessing ceremony.

The New owners have taken on the concept and will developing further amenities in the future.

    Lake Karapiro

Today a world-class rowing venue, Lake Karapiro was created in 1947 when the Karapiro hydroelectric dam was completed on the Waikato River.

The Lake is extensively used in the summer months for all forms of water sports and activities

What an honour to be the First Guests of the new owners of this wonderful Lodge, Jan & Colin. We have thoroughly enjoyed our two nights and Colin & Jans, such easy going hosts. The meals were superb and we were luck enough to stay in the Sir Tristram Room with its spectacular views.

We wish Colin & Jan all the best in their new venture, we look forward to staying again one day.
